Day 2 • Explore one of the uninhabited islands of the Archipelago!
Bartolome Island
North Seymour
Sullivan Bay
Today you will enjoy an amazing day trip to an uninhabited island. In the morning, you will take a boat ride to one of the islands mentioned below and follow some trails to discover their richness, while in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to explore the waters around. Lunch is included onboard, as well as a hike and a snorkel activity to maximize your experience.
North Seymour: small flat island with endemic species such as Palo Santos trees. Amongst the emblematic fauna of the island are sea lions basking on the lava rock, land iguanas and colonies of blue- footed boobies. You will also go to “Las Bachas”, a beautiful coralline beach and perfect place for practicing snorkeling.
South plazas: Disembarking, you will be greeted by a colony of sea lions and be able to observe nesting seabirds such as tropic birds, frigates, Nazca and blue-footed boobies. You will also have the possibility of snorkeling in the calm waters of Punta Carrión.
Santé Fé: In the middle of a sunny day the lagoon turns into turquoise blue, and colonies of sea lions bask lazily in the sun, amongst one of the endemic species of land iguanas and its characteristic forest of the giant prickly pear cactus. You will then enjoy snorkeling in the clear waters of the anchoring site; spotted Eagle rays and round stingrays are common in the small bay.
Bartolome / Sullivan Bay: very impressive little island in front of Sullivan Bay, with a landscape of real volcanic desolation: tuff cones, spatter cones, scoria formations and black volcanic sand. From the top of the volcano, the view is extraordinary and offers one of the most emblematic sceneries of the Galápagos Islands. Towards the west, the isthmus is covered by mangroves. Afterwards, you will be able to snorkel either on the north cove, under Pinnacle Rock or in Sullivan Bay.
Note: All tours are group tours and not private excursions. During the activities, you will meet other passengers from other tour companies, which is a great chance to meet other travelers. Tours in Galápagos are subject to space & availability. Itineraries may change due to weather conditions, operational or logistical matters, meaning the number of excursions or specific locations are not guaranteed.
