What we love about the Nemo I
A true sailboat
Social layout makes for great ambiance
Great outdoor dining room
North and southern itineraries
The Nemo I is a beautiful sailing catamaran owned and operated by a family business who have been sailing the Galápagos waters since 1985. This is a perfect way to see the islands in a vessel purpose-made for stable, fast journeys under sail or engine.
Nemo I provides accommodation in 7 cabins, and you have the choice of double beds, triple occupancy and twin bunk. Although the cabins are in the ship’s hulls, the use of bright finishes and light woods makes them feel bright and airy. Each one has individual air conditioning and private en suite bathrooms with shower and fresh towels every day.
The standout features of Nemo I are her social spaces. The catamaran design means she enjoys a wonderful lounge with a huge semi-circular bench sofa, fresh modern decor, and TV with DVD player and music system. The huge rear sundeck is just as comfortable, with fantastic modern easy chairs and sofas for relaxing during the heat of the day, or sipping drinks in the evening as the stars come out. For true sun-worshipers, take one of the cushioned lounger mats and lie on the safety netting between the two bows, “floating” above the water as you relax in style.
Nemo I has an outdoor undercover dining room with a fantastic social layout - everyone sits around a large oval table. It’s a great way to get to know new friends and share your amazing adventures from the day’s excursion over great food with great company. With over 30 years experience of sailing the islands with guests, the Nemo crews offer you fantastic service including great local and international food and knowledge of the islands that’s second to none.
Nemo I offers a choice of excellent itineraries to help you really explore the Galápagos. Her bilingual naturalist guide will share their in-depth knowledge of the local wildlife and habitats, and you can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, hiking and more as you cruise around the islands.
We love the social layout of this catamaran, and the outdoor dining room is one of our favorites - meals become a real family affair with everyone around the same table. It’s great to be able to hoist sails and do some actual “sailing” when the weather allows, and this gives Nemo I a proper sailboat feel. We like the choice of comprehensive northern or southern itineraries this boat has.

Food & Drinks on board the Nemo I
The food on our Galapágos Cruises is among the very best you will find in South America. Most of the on-board chefs are internationally trained and have prior experience working in the best hotels and restaurants in Ecuador and indeed around the world.
You can expect a first-class selection of food, including a good variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, locally sourced poultry and fish/seafood, rice and pasta dishes. Most boats will always include some typical Ecuadorian dishes on the menu during your cruise. If you have specific dietary requirements then these can usually be accommodated by the chef providing you have given advance notice. Please make sure you tell us about any allergies or dietary requirements you have at the time you book with us. If you leave it until you arrive at the dockside, then it may well be impossible to accommodate your needs.
Most boats serve a range of options at meal times in a relaxed buffet-style. At the first class and luxury end of the market, some boats have more formal dining where you will be served at your seat. However the atmosphere is always relaxed on board our cruises, and never stuffy or formal.
Sustainable Tourism
