Galapagos Expedition Cruise Ships

An overview of the entire fleet & how to choose the best ship

Tip #1: Ship size matters

There are currently over 70 different ships offering expedition cruises in the Galapagos. Most commonly they are divided by category (e.g. Budget, Classic, Premium and Luxury Ships). Another way to compare all cruises is by vessel type*, e.g. Motor Catamarans, Sailing Catamarans, Motor Yachts and Sailing Yachts.

As Galapagos Experts, we'd recommend you to look at the vessel size first: A smaller ship will offer a much more intimate and adventurous experience, while larger vessels will offer a more stable ride and more amenities.

Small Ships (<16 passengers)

Bigger Ships (16-100 Passengers)

Tip #2: Compare all sailing dates+prices

Our recommendation: Go to the page Galapagos Expeditions: Dates & Prices and filter for your desired travel date. Then, use the filters to narrow your choice further down, for example by ship size, ship category or amenities that you'd like to see on board.

Tipp #3: Ask us!

Aa each ship caters to a different clientele, we strive to understand the philosophy of each ship and crew in order to best match you with the trip that best suits your needs, taking into account your interests, fitness level and budget. As independent agents, we at Galapatours don't have any ties to specific operators. We won't be afraid to make specific recommendations based on your interests, fitness level, budget or age.
