Is there internet or WiFi access on a Galapagos Cruise?
Wifi in Galapagos should be considered intermittant at best wherever you go! Most Galapagos cruises do not offer internet access or Wi-Fi on board. There are a few Galapagos Cruise ships, however, that do offer internet service on board, mostly at a (sometimes hefty) charge. Click here to see all those Galapagos Cruises that offer internet / Wi-Fi. For the exact cost of this service please inquire with our team, we'll be very glad to help!
Tip: We are often asked "is there wifi on the Galapagos islands?" If you need internet connectivity during your Galapagos Cruise or when staying on the islands, we recommend you purchase an Ecuadorian SIM card with an internet package. With this you can get a useful signal when staying in or sailing close to towns (for example Puerto Villamil, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno and Puerto Ayora). If you do, you should then be able to connect your other devices using a feature that most modern smartphones have known as "tethering" or "mobile hotspot", which lets you use your phone as a wifi router. Please click here to find out more about which cell phone operator will offer the best internet in Galapagos.
Remember, though, that one of the delights of your adventure to Galapagos is the remoteness of the islands and the absence of distractions from your everyday life!
