When traveling to the Galápagos Islands, every visitor must obtain the Transit Control Card (TCC), also known as the "Tarjeta de Control de Tránsito" (TCT). This is a mandatory document issued by INGALA (the Galápagos Governing Council) that helps authorities regulate sustainable tourism and track the movement of visitors to protect the islands’ fragile ecosystem.
Important Update:
- The TCT can now be issued online before your trip or at the airport in Quito or Guayaquil.
- To save time, we strongly recommend registering online and paying in advance. This reduces wait times at the airport.
- If you experience issues with the online platform, you can still obtain the card in person at the INGALA counters in Quito or Guayaquil airports.
How to Obtain Your TCT Online:
- Go to the official TCT portal here
- Complete the registration form and pay the TCT US$ 20 per person fee.
- A copy of your TCT will be emailed to you. Save it digitally or print it out.
At the airport in Quito or Guayaquil:
- Present your TCT (digital or printed) at the INGALA booth for validation.
- Even with pre-registration, you’ll need to stop at the booth, but the process is quicker since your card is already issued.
- If you have pre-paid this card through us, a representative from the cruise company will meet you at the airport and provide your card.
Remember
- Keep your Transit Control Card (TCT) safe during your entire trip.
- You will be asked to present it when entering AND leaving the Galápagos Islands.
