What we love about the Infinity

Two guides for 20 guests — smaller shore groups, more personal interpretation.

A private balcony in every cabin — rare consistency across the ship.

Family-ready cabin pairing — Suite 8 connects directly to Cabin 10.

Infinity belongs on our shortlist for travellers who want the comfort and private space of a contemporary Galapagos yacht, yet still care about small-group guiding ashore. She carries 20 guests rather than the more usual 12 to 16, but two bilingual naturalist guides divide the group into teams of ten for excursions. In practical terms, that is Infinity's smartest advantage: more room and a sociable atmosphere on board without turning walks and wildlife interpretation into a large-group experience.

The two routes give the ship very different personalities. Route A links the seabird spectacle of Genovesa with Santiago and Rábida, Santa Cruz and Floreana before reaching Española, where waved albatrosses are a seasonal highlight. Route B is our choice for travellers drawn to the raw volcanic west: western Isabela and Fernandina sit alongside Bartolomé, North Seymour and the central islands. Both itineraries combine guided walks, panga outings and snorkelling where the National Park programme and conditions allow, so the right route matters at least as much as the yacht itself.

All ten cabins have private balconies, a genuine strength when you want a quiet view between landings. The eight staterooms are spread across the main and upper decks, while the two upper-deck suites offer more space; Suite 8 can connect directly with Cabin 10 for families. We recommend Infinity for couples and families who value modern design, balconies and strong guiding more than ultra-small-ship intimacy. If you are especially sensitive to motion, prefer the hush of a tiny yacht, or worry about anchor and machinery noise in some main-deck positions, ask us to compare cabin locations before booking.

Food & Drinks on board the Infinity

Meals on Infinity are designed around active days rather than formal restaurant ritual. The kitchen serves a varied mix of Ecuadorian and international dishes, with meals offered in the indoor dining room, as a relaxed buffet and, when the programme and weather suit, al fresco. We like that the ship has enough space for 20 guests to dine comfortably without making the experience feel anonymous. Vegetarian, vegan, allergy-related and other dietary requirements can usually be accommodated, but Royal Galapagos asks to receive them at least 30 days before departure, so please tell us when you book.

Sustainable Tourism

Infinity operates within Royal Galapagos' fleet-wide sustainability programme. The operator reports desalination systems, biodegradable cleaning products, reduced use of single-use plastics, refillable water bottles and hull and energy-efficiency measures across its yachts. Royal Galapagos also states that it offsets operational emissions and supports projects linked to the Galapagos Conservation Trust. These are operator-wide commitments rather than independently verified Infinity-only results, but they are more concrete than a generic conservation promise. As with every Galapagos cruise, the biggest safeguards remain regulated National Park routes, licensed guides and responsible behaviour at visitor sites.

Infinity

Luxury

I was 100% satisfied with Galapatours, and I'd enthusiastically recommend them to anyone. It's hard to imagine better service, and the 8-day tour my wife and I booked on the Infinity was utterly spectacular. Quite literally, the nature we saw each day left us spellbound.

Origin & Theory Galapagos Cruise

Origin & Theory

- Two twin ships operating side by side - Sustainable luxury - Wonderful amenities The Origin and Theory are two of the newest boats in the Galápagos cruise fleet. Built in 2016 and 2017, they travel as twin ships - one next to the other. Both have been designed to be as environmentally conscious as possible, and were constructed using zero-emissions materials. The operators are no strangers to sustainability - they were the first to be awarded the flagship SmartVoyager environmental certification, which they have held since 2000. However, the Origin and Theory have no hint of the austerity sometimes associated with environmentally friendly vessels, and your amazing voyage of discovery around the Galápagos will also be one of luxury. Stunning accommodation There are ten luxury staterooms on each ship, and all feature large panoramic windows for unparalleled views. Sumptuous touches included the finest linens, memory foam and soft pillows to suit all tastes, and twin beds that easily convert to a single King bed. Measuring a generous 145 sq ft, each cabin on board the Origin and Theory Galápagos Cruise has individual climate control, and ample closet space, including a personal safe. The en-suite luxury bathrooms feature plush towels and bathrobes with slippers, and a delightful "rainfall" shower with its own ocean view! A hair dryer and luxury range of biodegradable cosmetics are also provided. Unique in the fleet, every stateroom on the Origin and Theory features an Apple TV with a pre-loaded movie selection, a universal docking station for your mobile devices, and a personal Espresso machine and tea kettle. Stunning amenities As befits a luxury experience, the public areas of the Origin and Theory are no less splendid. Unlike other vessels of this size, the Origin and Theory has its own dedicated fitness room with cardio equipment, weights and yoga mats. There are several areas perfect for lounging, with comfortable seats and cozy decor. There is a comfortable library filled with books about the Galápagos, and about Charles Darwin - whose work "On the Origin of Species" clearly inspired the vessels' names. Outdoor accommodation is wonderful, and includes a large sun deck with chaise lounges, daybeds, chairs and hammocks, a shower, wet bar, BBQ and tables for al fresco dining. The food is stunning, and consists of international cuisine as well as gourmet Ecuadorian and Peruvian specialties. The chefs are also pleased to give cooking demonstrations on any of their recipes! Complimentary house wines and beers are poured during dinner, and there is a generous open bar policy excluding premium brands. Origin and Theory have raised the bar for what "all-inclusive" means in a Galápagos cruise. Stunning wildlife itineraries The Origin and Theory operate two alternating 8 day/7 night itineraries together. These can be combined into one absolutely amazing 15 day trip with no repeated excursions - the ultimate exploration of the Galápagos. One itinerary features the southern and central islands, the other visits the northern and western islands. Each ship carries two highly qualified, bilingual naturalist guides each, meaning the 40 guests on board each ship are split into four groups à 10 passengers. This will let you enjoy much lower guest-to-guide ratio than almost every other boat in the fleet! As well as visits to the stunning islands and their unique habitats and wildlife, the guides will lead you in other activities including swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and stand up paddle-boarding - all included with your cruise. Our comment Stunning. We used that word a lot up there, but it's the only one we think justifies a Galápagos cruise on board the twin ships Origin and Theory. The ships are amazing, the crews go out of their way to ensure your happiness, the food is first class, and the encounters with Galápagos wildlife you will have will make memories that last a lifetime. For those who are conscious of their environmental impact, the Origin and Theory are among the greenest vessels in the Galápagos fleet, and yet they also among the most luxurious. Origin and Theory prove that sustainable tourism can still be luxurious.

Grace Galapagos Cruise
Luxury

Grace

Grace is the yacht we would show travellers who want their Galapagos cruise to feel considered and individual rather than newly manufactured. Her 1928 pedigree, interiors most recently renovated in 2023 and 16-guest scale create a distinctly classic atmosphere, but the reason to choose her remains the islands: small guided groups, long days outdoors and two very different eight-day routes. The route choice is unusually important here. One itinerary focuses on the southern and central islands—Floreana, Española, San Cristóbal, Bartolomé and North Seymour—while the other reaches Genovesa's seabird colonies and the volcanic west of Isabela and Fernandina. Both combine walks, snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding and panga rides where conditions and National Park operations allow. We would help travellers choose the route first, then the cabin. There are nine cabins and suites, so category and deck matter. Grace is ideal for couples, celebratory trips and travellers who enjoy classic-yacht character, outdoor living and a naturally sociable onboard mood. Choose a newer catamaran instead if private balconies, minimalist design or maximum stability matter more than history and atmosphere.

Sea Star

Sea Star is one of those 16-guest yachts that feels far roomier once you step aboard than its size suggests. With only eight suites, generous shared areas and a sun deck with two Jacuzzis, there is space to slow down between island adventures. Our clients repeatedly praise the warm crew, knowledgeable naturalists and unexpectedly spacious cabins; families especially value the interconnecting and triple configurations. The real reason to choose Sea Star, though, is how comfortably she connects very different corners of the archipelago. Depending on your itinerary, you might explore Española and snorkel at Devil's Crown, discover the bird cliffs of Genovesa before visiting Bartolomé, or follow the volcanic western route through Isabela and Fernandina. Back on board, al-fresco meals and the open sun deck keep the islands present even while you sail. We recommend Sea Star to couples, families and groups of friends who want small-yacht intimacy without giving up suite space. Book a Balcony Suite if a private outdoor corner matters; choose a Galapagos Suite for the same generous 25 m² interior at the best value. If every cabin needs a balcony or you prefer a larger yacht with two naturalist guides, ask us to compare the alternatives with you.

Passion
Luxury

Passion

Passion is the yacht we recommend when luxury means privacy, generous space and a crew that quickly learns how you like to travel. She carries just 14 guests on a 48.5-metre motor yacht, so even at full occupancy the decks never feel crowded. The styling is classic rather than cutting-edge, but that is part of the appeal: this is an elegant, established yacht with the rhythm of a private charter, not a gleaming new catamaran. Our clients repeatedly praise the people on board. They remember an attentive crew and guide, warm towels after snorkeling, carefully presented meals and the kind of practical help that lets different generations enjoy the same active itinerary. Past family guests particularly valued the space, clean cabins, outdoor meals and the crew's thoughtful adaptation of a children's meal. That personal service is what makes Passion feel special to us. The seven cabins are spread across three decks, and the five Staterooms are not identical: their bed setups and deck locations differ, so we recommend choosing the exact cabin with us rather than treating them as one generic room. The two Suites are the standouts for space. Both have king beds and two bathrooms; Master is on Main Deck, while VIP is on Cabin Deck and adds a sofa bed and walk-in closet. Outside, broad decks, al-fresco dining space and two hot tubs make the hours between excursions genuinely enjoyable. The itinerary is every bit as important as the yacht. The eastern week reaches Genovesa and Española for spectacular seabird colonies and some of the archipelago's most rewarding wildlife walks. The western week turns toward Fernandina and western Isabela, where volcanic landscapes, marine iguanas, penguins and flightless cormorants take center stage. Travelers with time can combine both routes into a 15-day voyage rather than choosing between them. We especially like Passion for couples, multigenerational families and private groups who want serious space without big-ship formality. Book her if you want active wildlife days, a quiet onboard atmosphere and service that feels personal. Choose a newer catamaran instead if a private balcony or very contemporary interiors matter more to you than classic yacht character.
