The current Golden Galapagos fleet consists of Endemic, Elite, Ocean Spray, Petrel, Monique, and Grand Ocean Spray. They share a catamaran format, but they are not interchangeable. Endemic and Elite are positioned as premium-luxury ships; Ocean Spray and Petrel are established luxury choices with very different hull colors, layouts, and personalities; Monique brings the operator's newer generation of design; and Grand Ocean Spray is the larger signature-luxury addition scheduled to begin sailing in October 2026. Golden Galapagos Cruises is part of Golden Experiences & Travel, an Ecuadorian group that brings together Galapagos cruises, La Selva Eco-Lodge in the Amazon, and journeys on mainland Ecuador. The group describes itself as women-led and states that 95% of its Galapagos crew are Galapagos-born. Golden Experiences & Travel became a Certified B Corporation in September 2025, adding an independently assessed framework to the company's stated focus on communities, conservation, and accountability.
The fleet now spans six catamarans. Endemic and Elite sit in the operator's premium-luxury category, while Ocean Spray and Petrel are established luxury ships with distinct layouts and onboard styles. Monique represents a newer generation of the fleet. Grand Ocean Spray, the operator's signature-luxury addition, is scheduled for its maiden voyage on 3 October 2026. That expanding choice is useful, but a newer or higher-category ship is not automatically the best ship for every traveler.
