Tip Top Travel by Rolf Wittmer is a Galapagos family operator with roots in the islands and a current fleet of four 16-guest ships: Tip Top II, Tip Top IV, Tip Top V and Köln. This page brings the complete fleet, departure dates and practical booking information together so you can compare the vessels properly. We are independent Galapagos specialists, have worked with these ships for years and know the people behind the operation. Ask us about cabins, routes, the onboard naturalist team, conditions at sea or atmosphere. You receive the same published fare as with a direct booking, plus independent advice, help arranging flights, hotels and mainland Ecuador extensions, and the additional security of booking through a German tour operator. We will help you narrow four similar-sized ships to the one that best fits your priorities.
The complete Tip Top Travel fleet consists of four 16-guest ships. Tip Top II and Tip Top V are catamarans, offering broader beams and a different deck layout from the motor yachts Tip Top IV and Köln. Tip Top V is the fleet's most contemporary premium option, including upper-deck cabins with private balconies. Tip Top II combines catamaran space with a smaller-scale, long-established feel. Tip Top IV and Köln appeal to travelers who prefer the proportions and atmosphere of a traditional motor yacht. Since every vessel carries the same small number of guests, compare itinerary, cabin location, deck layout and style rather than capacity alone. Open the ship cards below for photographs and specifications. The details, not the Roman numeral, should decide the fit.

Booking with Galapatours does not add a markup. Our Best Price Guarantee means you receive the same published fare as when booking directly, while gaining an independent Galapagos specialist on your side. We can compare all four Tip Top ships with each other and with the wider Galapagos fleet without favoring an operator. We look at route, cabin location, hull style, deck space, guiding, comfort and budget, and we will tell you when a different vessel is a better fit. That honest comparison is the point. We can also arrange flights, hotels and mainland extensions. Your booking is made with Ventura TRAVEL GmbH and includes the financial protection explained here. Prefer to discuss it personally? The Wittmer family is part of the human history of the Galapagos. Heinz and Margret Wittmer settled on Floreana in 1932, and their son Rolf became the first officially registered child born there in 1933. Rolf later built Tip Top I by hand in 1969 and formally founded Rolf Wittmer Turismo in 1982. The company remains family-owned and focused on small-ship Galapagos cruising.
That history is meaningful because it reflects local continuity, but it should not decide your cruise on its own. The present fleet spans two catamarans and two motor yachts, each for 16 guests. Their cabin positions, deck plans and itineraries differ, and those practical distinctions shape the experience more than the shared family name.
Choose the itinerary first, then the Tip Top vessel that makes that route comfortable for you. That keeps the wildlife experience at the center of the decision. Our guide to choosing the right Galapagos cruise length explains the main trade-offs, while the full Galapagos cruise search lets you compare the Rolf Wittmer fleet with other ships.
